Republicans are Anti-Democracy

Not all republicans, all Republican politicians. Who weren’t always. In my lifetime, in my children's lifetimes, patriotic, democracy loving Republican politicians were common. Now, I challenge anyone to name one Republican congressional member worth spit.
Before the Republican party’s infamous ‘southern strategy’, liberal, honest Republican politicians were not uncommon. One could easily name a dozen. By the 1980s, the party had been completely co-opted by former Big-Lie ‘Dixiecrats’. The very same who had long been the bane of the modern Democratic party. Good riddance to bad rubbish (GRTBR) for the Democratic party; the beginning of the end for the Republican party — and the nation. The Dixiecrats, progeny of the Confederacy, itself, progeny of 17th century Europe, stood for everything that was wrong in America. Today’s Republican Party is all these. and — is the bane of the nation.
Since the transformation, the perverted Republican Party, in alliance with the wealthy, has managed to destroy our democracy. Has done so by gerrymandering control of Congress and packing the Federal Courts (including the Supreme Court) with partisan hacks. In our time of need, we have a moribund legislature and a Supreme Court majority of the likes of Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Alito and Thomas.
Congressional members from the former Confederate states, though believers they be, do not, never did, believe in Democracy. Neither do the majority members on the Supreme Court. 17th century, more like.
Tell me, tell us all, what would it take to steady the ship, to get back up to the present, to deal with the future? Can our democracy be restored? The United States of America has gotten itself into one hell of a mess. Be generations, if ever. Maybe, another country.
We needed reformation; got regression. Needed thinkers; got believers. Old bastard said, “I know a lot of us are hearing from people back home about Medicaid. But they’ll get over it.” Always have. Around and around, he keeps screwing over them and they keep getting over it. So it goes in every red state. Will until they get their heads out and get rid.
